Thief steals man's wallet - then saves his life

From villain to hero: a French thief has been captured on camera stealing a drunk man’s wallet – and then rushing to save him when the man fell in front of an oncoming train.

The video, shown as part of a French documentary aired on Tuesday, shows the thief brazenly approaching a drunken man in a Paris Metro station.

He feels around the guy’s pockets before removing his wallet and walking away.

A few seconds later, the drunken man stands up, wobbles towards the edge of the platform, and then falls over.

A bystander watches him do so, but incredibly turns his back on the scene, as a subway train approaches.

The thief, on the other hand, can be seen running down the platform, past other commuters, to reach the fallen drunk and pull him back on to the platform.

The documentary, aired on France 5, compared how people reacted to a person in danger.

In this scenario, it was certainly the thief that turned out to be the good guy.
