NSW premier takes DeLorean DMC-12 time machine to see state's future

The NSW Premier got in the Back to the Future day action – at a speed of 88m/h.

In a clip posted to the media-savvy leader's Facebook page, the unmistakable DeLorean that brought Doc Emmet Brown and Marty McFly from 1985 to today – October 21, 2015 – rolls along a street in suburban Sydney street.

Inside the stainless steel, Belfast-built machine is Premier Mike Baird.

The premier steps out of the DMC-12's gull wing doors to and says: “I’ve just seen the future for New South Wales, it’s fantastic.”

Sadly, the car was not flying so people should assume wherever that state's going you will still need roads.

The premier is not he only one to get in on the retro-futuristic action.

Advertising companies around the world took a chance to tap the nostalgia vein and remind us how brightly we once thought our future would be.
