Slippery seal manages to escape Great White's jaws

A Great White shark has been outsmarted by a slippery seal, which manage to avoid becoming the ocean predator’s dinner.

In a video filmed off the East Coast of the United States, the seal can be seen leaping out of the sea while ‘kicking’ the shark, which is snapping frantically in an attempt to get a feed.

As if it were teasing the shark, the seal leaps out of the air multiple times with the shark, and its sharp teeth, not far behind.

But luck was clearly on the seal’s side, as it managed to escape the Great White’s jaws.

The missed meal opportunity happened off Monomoy Island, Massachusetts earlier this week.

It was filmed by Dr Greg Skomal of the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.
