More info after $1m Vic cold case rewards

Police have received fresh information after announcing $1 million rewards for a series of cold case Victorian murders.

Saleh Dheibech was shot dead outside his Melbourne panel beating business in 2010, while grandmother Leah Buck was mugged and killed when she was exercising after a hip replacement in 1994.

A family member found Brenda Gouge's body in 2011, and police believe she was murdered.

Their killers have never been brought to justice. Rewards of $1 million were offered in all three cases in December.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Acting Sergeant Julie-Anne Newman says detectives are working through the information as part of their investigations.

"Police have received a number of calls and offers of information following the recent announcement of $1 million rewards in the Saleh Dheibech, Brenda Gouge and Leah Buck cases," she told AAP.

"As the investigations are ongoing we are not in a position to provide comment further."

Acting Sgt Newman says even the smallest piece of information could provide a vital breakthrough.

"It is our hope that as the circumstances of people's lives change, people who may have knowledge or information about the crimes come forward to us," she said.
