Man arrested after Murraylands crime run in South Australia

A man has been arrested in South Australia's Murraylands where a woman was threatened with a tyre lever.

Police said two men wearing balaclavas threatened the woman in a Lameroo deli on Railway Terrace just after 10:30pm (ACDT) on Saturday and stole cash.

They fled the scene in a dark-coloured Commodore.

About one hour later the same car with at least two people inside was involved in petrol theft at Tailem Bend.

Murray Bridge Police then spotted the car on Humphrey Street and a short pursuit ensued before police called off the chase due to safety concerns.

A 25-year-old man from Lameroo, who matched the description of one of the robbery suspects, was later arrested in Murray Bridge.

He was charged with aggravated robbery and will appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police said they were still searching for the second suspect.
