No bail after flatmate ad used for assault

A Sydney man accused of sexually assaulting a woman and a teenager after they responded to his ad for a flatmate will remain behind bars.

Thomas Hofer allegedly met a 23-year-old in Sydney's inner west after she replied to his online ad for a flatmate on Wednesday.

Police allege after meeting in public, Hofer, 47, took the woman to a residence in Glebe and repeatedly sexually assaulted her.

A day later, a 17-year-old girl came forward to police to report a similar experience.

Hofer was arrested at his Broadway workplace on Friday and charged with nine counts of sexual intercourse without consent.

He appeared in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday and did not apply for bail.

The case was adjourned to Central Local Court on November 6.
