Banned NSW driver charged over ice haul

A disqualified driver will face court after he was found with the drug ice on Saturday.

Highway patrol officers stopped a Toyota Landcruiser on the eastern side of Mudgee in the NSW central west at 3.35am.

A check revealed the 36-year-old driver's licence had been disqualified.

Police searched the vehicle and found about 13 grams of methamphetamine (also known as ice) and nearly $2000.

Police arrested the man and he was charged at Mudgee Police Station with numerous drug offences, driving while disqualified and providing a false name.

The man was refused bail to appear at Mudgee Local Court on Saturday.
