Qld family safe after car through roof
Emergency services will use a crane to remove a car that ploughed through the roof of a Brisbane home.
A 19-year-old man was driving through Everton Hills, in Brisbane's north west, when his car left Buckland Road around 10pm on Friday.
His car smashed through a fence and then plunged into the roof of the rented home of the Gamble family, which sat below street level.
Dad, Brent Gamble says the vehicle came to rest between his bedroom and a room where his seven-year-old son was sleeping.
"I had to scale the car to get to my seven year old," Mr Gamble told ABC radio.
"I heard the car and then I heard the bang."
Mr Gamble's wife and another son, a baby boy, were also at home at the time.
The driver of the car suffered only minor abrasions and lacerations.
Two fire crews attended the property and isolated the power, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said.
Firefighters also had to shore up some roof trusses.
