Alleged dognapper got mitts on NSW mutts

A NSW woman has been charged with letting the dogs out.

The dognapping alarm was raised after owners of a purebred British bulldog and pug noticed the canines were missing from their Lake Macquarie yard on Monday night.

While the pug was handed in to a nearby vet and quickly reunited with its owner, the bulldog remained missing, sparking a police investigation.

The dog was found about 30 minutes later at an Arcadia Vale home.

A 38-year-old woman has been charged with stealing a dog and will front Toronto Local Court on October 22.
