Sydney man charged over robbery, drugs

A man is due to appear in court charged over the attempted robbery of a hotel in Sydney's east and the possession of $100,000 worth of the drug ice.

Police say two men entered a hotel in Randwick about 11am (AEST) on Monday with their faces covered.

The pair demanded cash but were chased away by a staff member.

Soon after detectives arrested a 41-year-old man in a unit on Marks Street, Randwick.

Police searched the man's home, where it's alleged they found methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $100,000.

He was charged with robbery in company and supplying a commercial quantity of prohibited drug, and refused bail to appear in court on Tuesday.
