Qld woman bites off victim's ear: police

A young woman has been charged with biting off another woman's ear in a violent fight at a Townsville home.

Police allege the 22-year-old launched herself at her victim, leaving her with a severed left ear and injuries to her upper arm.

The injured woman, 26, was taken to the Townsville hospital after the fight at a Garbutt home just before 8pm (AEST) on Thursday.

The 22-year-old has been charged with serious assault and is due to face the Townsville Magistrates Court on Friday.
