Funeral held for sisters killed driving home

Friends and family have farewelled two young sisters who died while driving their parents' car home from a school bus stop near Yeppoon.

Hundreds filled the girls' school hall remembering them as inspirational students with bright futures.

Their lives were short but the impact they had on everyone around them will last a lifetime.

They were sisters who were inseparable, country girls with big hearts and kind souls. 15 year-old Jessica and 12 year-old Rheanna were the babies of the Schobbe family.

"You'll always be our last thought at night and our first thought in the morning," dad Chris Schobbe said.

"We're very proud and blessed to have her as a daughter and see how many lives she touched."

The girls died together In a crash metres from their family home.

"Jess always came across as tough as nails, but was the softest person at heart,” brother Michael said at the funeral.

"She was always as fiercely protective of her family - especially her baby sister, who she'd always protect from everything."

Friends and family wore pink and green and released balloons for two bright happy girls they'll never forget.
