Teenager stabbed during armed hold-up

A teenager is recovering in hospital after being stabbed during an armed hold-up at a liquor shop in Melbourne's southeast overnight.

Police say two men entered the licensed store on Cleveland Road, Ashwood, at around 8pm, and demanded staff hand over cash.

A scuffle broke out and it is alleged one of the culprits produced a knife

One of the attendants, a 17-year-old Glen Waverley boy, was stabbed in the torso.

The men stole a phone and wine before running from the store.

The victim was taken to an address in Glen Waverley and an ambulance was called.

He was taken to The Alfred and is in a stable condition.
