Electricity customers face another price rise

Electricity customers in South Australia are likely to have an additional $40 slapped onto their annual bill.

SA Power Networks has applied to the national regulator for a 2.1% increase from July to help maintain its poles, wires and transmission network.

Proceeds from the price hike will also help offset funding credits given to customers feeding solar back into the grid.

The electricity distributor said this year’s increase is justified and is much lower than last year’s massive 11% hike.
