Teenage boy remains in induced coma following shooting

Police are continuing investigations following the shooting of a teenage boy in Auburn yesterday.

A 16-year-old boy was dropped off at Auburn Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach.

He was treated by doctors before police were contacted and attended the hospital.

The boy was later transferred to Westmead Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and remains in an induced coma in a critical but stable condition.

Detectives from Flemington Local Area Command are investigating the shooting.

A crime scene has now been established at the unit and will be examined by specialist forensic officers.
