Gun allegedly found after police chase

Two men have been charged with gun offences after they were arrested following an alleged police chase in the western suburbs.

Police say they spotted the allegedly stolen car driving erratically at about 3.30pm yesterday on West Lakes Bvd and Port Rd and began chasing the vehicle.

The passenger exited the vehicle at Croydon Park and was soon arrested.

Police say the driver of the allegedly stolen vehicle continued with a flat tyre before eventually coming to a stop Ferryden Park, where he was then taken into custody.

Following a search of the car, police charged the pair with firearm offences after allegedly finding a gun.

The men, a 30-year-old from Exeter and a 31-year-old from Rosewater, were also charged with acts to endanger life, illegal use and engaging in a police pursuit.
