Second arrest over North Adelaide shooting

An alleged Commanchero has appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court over a shooting in a North Adelaide restaurant, on December 18.

The 23-year-old from Para Hills was extradited from Melbourne yesterday, over charges relating to a stabbing that occurred in Adelaide in 2008.

But hours after the man arrived in the state, South Australian police charged him with acts to endanger life and firearms offences relating to the shooting inside Caffe Paesano, on O'Connell St at North Adelaide.

The shooting sent diners diving for cover, when a gunman approached three men associated with the Commancheros, sitting at a table outside the restaurant.

As the gunman fired shots with a small calibre handgun, one of the bikies at the table returned fire, hitting the gunman in the leg.

Today, the court heard that the extradited bikie is also facing charges of aggravated theft and threats to kill, over an incident in June last year.

Both the prosecution and defence lawyers have asked for the man's identity to remain suppressed.

Throughout the proceedings, the man was smiling at a young woman and her mother from the dock.

He has been remanded into police custody, and is expected to reappear in court in March.

Police now believe they have arrested both gunmen involved in the shooting, as a 24-year-old Salisbury man was arrested on December 29.
