Fresh plea for clues in Bobridge murder

On January 10, 1997, the body of prostitute Susan Bobridge, known to many as 'Suzie', was found in the sand dunes of the beach at Tennyson, in Adelaide's western suburbs.

She was shot in the head twice, at point blank range.

Over 200 people gave police statements, but today, fifteen years on, there is still no firm evidence and no suspects.

Her step brother, Philip Zealand, believes she was executed because she found something out that she wasn't supposed to know.

"Suzie was fairly well known, it's my belief that it wasn't a random act, that Susana actually knew something and was targeted and murdered because she knew something."

Susana turned to heroin to deal with her inner turmoil, and then later to prostitution in order to pay for her drug habit.

She was last seen the night before, on January 9, 1997, at 9.30.

Witnesses say she got into a white sedan that was being driven by a man near the Port Rd and South Rd intersection.

But Mr Zealand believes that although she lived a difficult life, she was still a good person and came into contact with someone who wanted her dead.

"It's fifteen years, this doesn't go away for me, this doesn't go away for her friends, it actually gets worse as time goes by."

"We have to do more to find out to killed her, she was a nice person, she was loved, she had a big heart," he said.

Mr Zealand is asking anyone who can recall any information on the murder to come forward and a $200,000 reward is being offered.
