Man charged over 'sickening' attack on Gold Coast student

A man has been charged over an attack outside a Gold Coast karaoke bar on a student who was allegedly knocked out cold and robbed in front of his friends.

Cameras filmed the moment a Korean student was allegedly kicked in the head after being ambushed outside the bar at Southport on Wednesday.

Queensland Police released the footage in the hope people might recognise the men involved.

The footage shows one of the men wearing black talking to the students while another man in a red T-shirt stands behind, leaning on a pole.

Within a second one of the men can be seen using pole to swing a massive kick into one the student's faces, knocking him out cold.

The other student stands by but is allegedly hit in the face several times by one of the men, he was forced to flee back into the club.

The thugs then allegedly robbed the unconscious man of everything.

The 26-year-old was charged with two counts of assault and one of armed robbery occasioning bodily harm.

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
