Teacher filmed slapping boy in UAE classroom
This is the shocking moment a male teacher was secretly filmed repeatedly slapping a student across the head and shoulders in the middle of an argument.
The clip was captured in a school in the United Arab Emirates and has gone viral since being posted online, the teacher has also been suspended while the incident is investigated.
Khaleej Times reports that the incident took place in the Emirate of Ajman and it looks to have been captured by another student.
Education Minister Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi tweeted that the teacher had been suspended and a panel had been formed to look into the incident.
"It is a single case. We regret that it happened," the minister said.
"Education that we aspire here in the country is based in its essence on bolstering the principle of mutual respect between the teacher and student, inculcating the moral values and education into students and making it a core attribute and an advantage as well to prevail the entire scholastic community," he added.
It is unknown why the teacher and student were having a disagreement but the boy can be seen trying to shield his head as the blows continue while asking the teacher to stop.
