Dogs sits by trapped friend for a week before finding help
A dog stood by its trapped buddy in a US forest for a whole week until rescuers arrived and saved them both.
Tillie the setter and friend basset hound Phoebe were wandering in the Washington state wilderness when Phoebe got stuck in concrete trench.
With no humans around to help, the setter stood sentinel for close to a week as the dogs fought starvation together.
Then Tillie set out to find help, walking into a nearby yard where the residents called the non-profit Vashion Island Pet Protectors to report the dog's strange behavior – running into the bush when it got their attention.
The rescuers later arrived and followed Tillie into the woods where they found Phoebe.
The dogs were rescued and are said to be doing fine with their loyalty to each other as healthy as ever.
