Outraged mum told to 'cover up' while breastfeeding on flight

A mum has spoken of her outrage after she was told to ‘cover up’ while she was breastfeeding her baby aboard a budget airline flight.

Gemma Leung, 27, from England, claims she was told by crew members on the EasyJet flight to cover her daughter Ruby-Bow with a blanket in case any other passengers got upset.

Despite a steward apologising shortly after Mrs Leung said she was too embarrassed to continue feeding the eight-month-old. She said: “I’m totally outraged. It ruined the whole trip for me and my mum. It’s just not right.”

The budget airline has since publically apologised, reports the Metro, making clear that their company policy allows mums to breastfeed on flights.

A spokesman said: “The crew member was immediately corrected by another member of crew who apologised to Mrs Leung.

“This does not reflect EasyJet’s policy on breastfeeding.”
