Barossa Valley fire out of control

About 200 firefighters and several aircraft are battling a blaze in South Australia's Barossa Valley.

The Angaston fire is burning at Moculta near Mount Karinya Road and Pipeline Road.

"This is a fast moving grass fire which is traveling in an easterly direction towards Three Chain Road, and has burnt through around 1500ha," a CFS message reads.

The CFS said about 200 firefighters are battling the blaze on the ground, supported by four bombers and two aerial observers.

A number of farm fire units are also assisting firefighting efforts.

A watch and act message is currently in effect for the fire.

"The fire is not controlled and is burning in Grass and conditions are continually changing," message reads.

"The public is advised to remain vigilant as conditions are continually changing."

CFS regional commander John Hutchins said firefighters were battling strong winds as they fought to contain the blaze.

"It's certainly making our life very, very difficult," he told ABC radio.

"Because of the heavy terrain, it's moving around a number of different fronts. We're doing everything we can to bring this fire under control."
