SA man detained after 2 family stabbings

An Adelaide man will face attempted murder charges after two people were stabbed at the family home.

Police say the 21-year-old has been detained under the Mental Health Act after a violent disturbance at the Torrens Park home in the early hours of Wednesday.

Police say a woman with stab wounds took refuge at a neighbour's house, while a second victim, a man, was found inside the property.

The alleged attacker, who was armed with a knife, was tasered by police at the front of the house.

Both victims sustained multiple wounds and are in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The detained man is under guard at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and is expected to be charged with two counts of attempted murder.
