Gary Ablett, Nathan Fyfe and Lance Franklin named in All Australian AFL team of the year Fyfe, Franklin and Ablett named in All Australian team

Nathan Fyfe, Gary Ablett and Lance Franklin have headlined the AFL's 2014 All Australian team of the year.

The Sydney Swans had four representatives in the starting team, while Fremantle players featured three times.

Gold Coast sensation Ablett was named for an eighth-straight occasion as an All Australian follower, alongside Geelong's Joel Selwood and Aaron Sandilands of Fremantle.

Fresh after being voted the AFLPA's player of the year, Fremantle's Fyfe made it into the centre line, along with Sydney's Josh Kennedy and Essendon's Dyson Heppell.

Sydney's Franklin was named in the full forward line after a stellar debut season with the Swans, alongside Fremantle's Hayden Ballantyne and Hawthorn's Jarryd Roughead.

The backline saw Adelaide's Daniel Talia, named alongside Sydney Swans' Nick Smith and Essendon's Cale Hooker.

The Swans' Nick Malceski partnered up with Richmond's Alex Rance and Adelaide's Brodie Smith in the half-back line as six first-timers were named in the All Australian defensive ranks.

All Australian regular Nick Riewoldt was good enough to make the half-forward line despite St Kilda's miserable season. He was joined by Hawthorn's Luke Breust and Port Adelaide's Robbie Gray.

Hawthorn's Jordan Lewis, Collingwood's Scott Pendlebury, Port Adelaide's Travis Boak and the Brisbane Lions' Tom Rockliff were named on the interchange.
