Aust bond futures prices slightly lower

Australian bond futures prices have drifted slightly lower after little new information was revealed by US Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen on her second day of Congressional testimony.

"US Treasuries moves were modest as Fed chair Janet Yellen said little new on her second day of testimony to Congress," ANZ economists said.

"Australian bond futures continue to underperform US Treasuries."

At 0830 AEST on Thursday, the September 2014 10-year bond futures contract was trading at 96.570 (implying a yield of 3.430 per cent), down from 96.575 (3.425 per cent) on Wednesday.

The September 2014 three-year bond futures contract was at 97.440 (2.560 per cent), down from 97.450 (2.550 per cent).
