Barry O'Farrell won't have to pay for Grange: reports

Former New South Wales Premier Barry O'Farrell will not have to pay for the expensive bottle of Grange that cost him his top job, according to reports.

Normally a minister must pay the difference between a gift's value, and the declaration mark of $500.

For Mr O'Farrell, that difference is $2500.

A government spokesman has told News Corp he is not obliged to pay because he is no longer a minister.

Barry O'Farrell stepped down after misleading a corruption inquiry about the gift.
