Spade used in deli robbery at Gawler

A man has used a spade to threaten staff in a robbery on a deli in Gawler South, north of Adelaide.

Police said the man entered Dodd’s Deli on Adelaide Rd at about 7pm yesterday armed with the spade and demanded money.

They said he fled with cash on what was described as a green, home-made, BMX bicycle.

He was described as Caucasian, about 170cm tall, stocky build, with a weathered complexion and stubble.

Meanwhile, police are also hunting a man who robbed a pizza bar at Fulham in Adelaide’s western suburbs armed with a knife last night.

He jumped the counter and threatened staff just after 10pm yesterday before stealing cash from the till.

He fled in a stolen car and was last seen travelling south on Tapleys Hill Rd.

No one was injured in either robbery.
