Seven cars involved in Gordon crash

Emergency crews are at the scene of a crash on the Pacific Hwy at Gordon on Sydney's north shore.

There are reports up to seven cars have been involved in the accident.

A 35-year-old woman is being examined by paramedics for neck and possible spinal injuries.

Five other people are being assessed.

Motorists experienced heavy delays, but the area has now been cleared.

The crash comes after a teenager died after the car he was driving crashed down an embankment near a train line in Sydney's west.

Police said the Honda Civic ran off the road at Canley Vale about 6am (AEST) Friday.

It crashed down an embankment and came to rest near rail lines, police said in a statement.

The 18-year-old male driver suffered severe head injuries in the smash and died later at Liverpool Hospital.

Police are pleading with drivers to slow down this Queen’s Birthday long weekend.

Double demerits are in force until midnight on Monday.
