Three men shot in Sydney's west

Police have confirmed three men were shot outside a house at Smithfield in Sydney's west.

Officers were called to The Horsley Drive just after 8pm on Friday night.

It's believed they found two men suffering leg wounds, and another with gunshot wounds to his back and stomach.

The Horsley Drive has been closed between Wetherill Street and Gibbs Street.

Police are urging the public to avoid the area.

The incident comes after reports a man was shot in the head at a beachfront hotel on the NSW central coast at about 3.40pm.

Paramedics airlifted a patient to hospital in a serious condition on Friday afternoon, after being called to an Ettalong Beach property.

A police spokesman said detectives were in the "early stages" of an investigation after police were called to a hotel on The Esplanade.

"Police are investigating an incident that's left a man with facial injuries," he said.

The injured man is aged in his 20s and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
