Senior SA health official target of death threats

Police are investigating claims a senior health official has been the target of death threats, forcing her to hide out in a hotel, after she took up a new role within the Aboriginal Health sector.

7News reports she was moved into the role to 'stamp out inefficiencies'.

It's believed some employees within the health service aren't happy with her changes to the health service, and she and her family have since received threats.

Police believe the threats are work-related.

Two weeks ago, the woman's house at Elizabeth, in Adelaide's northern suburbs, was vandalized - twice within three days.

Since then, her and her husband and three children have been relocated to a hotel, while their house is under guard around the clock by a security firm.

The hotel stay and the guard are all at taxpayer's expense, but a Government spokesperson told 7News, given the nature of the threats, it's the most appropriate course of action.
