Man's unique flashmob proposal stuns girlfriend, passengers

Passengers on a packed London train were stunned when their evening commute was interrupted by a musical marriage proposal.

With a little help from a show choir and some careful planning, groom-to-be Adam King used a local train as the venue to pop the question to his girlfriend Lucy Rogers.

King enlisted the help of his choir, the Adam Street Singers, to serenade Rogers with a rendition of Bill Withers' Lovely Day.

According to ABC News, the pair was headed to a friend’s house on the 19.57 London Overground service to Watford Junction on Tuesday.

King had reportedly alerted the group of about 25 people that they were to take the train. As the couple were seated, one man from the group began singing.

Rogers watched in delight as more people joined in the chorus, not suspecting for a moment it was for her.

A YouTube video of the proposal shows the groom-to-be getting down on one knee, before Rogers bursts into tears and says yes.

"I knew I wanted to do some kind of flashmob, but wanted it to be quite intimate - so I came up with the idea of the Overground train from Euston, where we live, King told the Evening Standard, "A lot of the choir are our friends, which made things even harder - we had to make sure she didn't recognise people."
