Mum escapes horror kidnap bid

A young mum is living in fear after fighting off two would-be kidnappers.

Brook has told how she thought she might be killed as the men tried to snatch her bag as she walked along a suburban street.

She says during the attack she was thinking of her children, and the fear that she would never see them again.

"My kids are my everything so to get back I did everything I could...I struggled..I screamed," she said.

And that struggle saved the 21-year-old from this sexual predator.

Now Brook is hoping the public can put a name to the face, and one clue could be his distinctive tattoo.

He and another man tried to abduct her as she walked along a reservoir street, early Sunday morning.

They tried to drag her into a VY model commodore with chrome wheels.

Now too scared to be identified, Brook feared the worst.

Asked what she thought the men might do to her, Brook said "possibly rape me, possibly murder me."

The attempted abduction comes just two months after the sexual assault on a woman walking from the railway station in neighbouring Lalor - a crime that remains unsolved.

Brook admits it was unwise to walk alone at night - something she won't do again - but for her the nightmare won't go away.

"It haunts me all the time...you get flashbacks...anytime of the day you dream about it," she said.
