The movie will hit theaters beginning Sept. 10, 2021, per Goal. It is produced by Lucky Red with Jens Sjogren directing. Jakob Beckman and David Lagercrantz wrote it.
It tells the story of Ibrahimovic's early childhood and his explosive career from his start at Malmo in 1999 to stops with Barcelona, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United. Ibrahimovic, 39, is currently with AC Milan in Serie A. He is one of the greatest soccer players in the world.
The movie is based on the autobiography of the same name released in September of 2013. It also follows a 2015 documentary on the player's life.
Multiple actors are playing Ibrahimovic in the movie given the jump in time over his life. Granit Rushiti, a 20-year-old former Swedish attacker in U19, will play him from the ages of 17 and 23. Dominic Bajraktari Andersson will take on the role for the ages of 11 to 13.
