A group staged a protest near a military registration office, prompting draft office employees to fire a warning shot into the air in Vynohradiv, Zakarpattya Oblast, reported National Police on Facebook on May 4.

Police report that on the evening of May 3, approximately 10 people assembled at the entrance to the Vynohradiv draft office.

“They violated public order and committed vandalism acts,” National Police stated.

Local journalist Vitaliy Hlahola reported that a group of individuals from the village of Onok, identified as Roma, gathered near the draft office, blocking its exit. They brought tires and damaged cars outside the building. Police stated that the Roma representatives were protesting the mobilization of two community members.

“When participants of the conflict tried to force open entrance gate, draft office employees made warning shots in the air,” police added.
