Zac Efron hits himself with rake after stepping on garden tool

Watch: Zac Efron steps on a rake

Zac Efron seemed to experienced a clumsy mishap while filming a new instalment of Netflix series Down To Earth in Australia.

As the High School Musical star was walking through a garden he stepped on a rake, causing the garden tool's handle to fly up into the air.

Efron, 33, didn't manage to catch it though as it hit his hand before falling back to the ground, as seen in a video posted to his Instagram.

He too hit the floor as he fell to his knees after the accident as he clutched his eyes in apparent jest, while those around him chuckled.

Efron captioned the footage: "Who left the rake here."

He's shooting the second season of the web documentary, which sees him explore nature, different cultures and sustainable living.

In the first series he jetted around the globe to destinations such as Iceland, Costa Rica and Sardinia alongside self-proclaimed wellness expert Darien Olien.

Both Efron and Olien are executive producers on the programme.

Earlier this month, Efron teased that filming for season two had begun as he shared a picture of himself and Olien on a new adventure Down Under.
