Young mum's grim warning from hospital bed

A British mother has gone viral after releasing a video from her hospital bed during treatment for coronavirus, warning others to not “take any chances”.

Tara Jane Langston is in her 30s and currently in London’s Hillingdon hospital intensive care unit as she recovers from COVID-19.

“If anyone is thinking of taking any chances, just take a look at me, I’m in the intensive care unit, I can’t breathe without this,” she says pointing to a cannula in her right wrist after a coughing fit.

“They’ve had to sew that into my artery.”

In the video Ms Langston says she is currently feeling “ten times better right now than what I was before”, in between coughing and struggling for breath.

“If anyone still smokes, put the cigarettes down because I’m telling you now, you need your f**king lungs,” she says before ending the video with a stern warning.

“Please, none of you, take any chances, I mean it because if it gets really bad then you’re going to end up here, okay?” she says before thanking people for their get well messages.

The video has since been shared over one million times with friends and family sending well wishes and Ms Langston’s sister commenting on how healthy Tara was before she became ill.

“My sister is in her thirties and normal health. She contracted CV-19 and has been in intensive care for a while now. Please please please be careful and follow all guidelines and health measures,” her sister Pippy Keatley said.

“Just because the news is highlighting the elderly and people with underlying health issues as being high risk that doesn’t mean if/when you catch this your body will be able to handle/fight it easily.

“Taras had BIG issues breathing and with the help of the hospital and NHS she’s back talking and can share her experience.

“You’re so strong and doing amazing we miss you so much can’t wait to annoy you again after all this is over.”

An 18-year-old recently became the youngest person in the UK to die from coronavirus, as the nation’s death toll rises to 281 and confirmed cases passing 5,740.

England has the most confirmed cases in the UK with 4,792 confirmed, followed by Scotland with 416, Wales with 347 and 128 in Northern Ireland.
