Flight to Bali makes emergency landing after woman's discovery on husband's phone

A Qatar Airways plane flying from Doha to Bali has been forced into an emergency landing after a woman discovered mid-flight that her husband was having an affair.

The Iranian woman unlocked her husband's phone while he was asleep and found evidence that he was cheating on her, The Times of India has reported.

She caused such a commotion that the flight crew were unable to calm her down, and when the situation got "out of hand" the pilot made an emergency decision to divert and land in Chennai, India.

The woman, her husband and their young child were offloaded before the plane continued its flight to Bali.

A statement from India's Central Industrial Security Force confirmed the incident.

"A lady along with her husband and a child, all Iranian nationals, were offloaded by Qatar Airline as the lady passenger (who was intoxicated) misbehaved with crew members in-flight," the statement reads.

The trio later boarded another flight to Kuala Lumpur and returned to Doha - unsurprisingly, the family didn't continue their trip to Bali.
