Faces of lives lost: Innocent victims gunned down in Las Vegas

These are just some of the faces of the 58 victims killed in the horrific Las Vegas shooting.

Stephen Craig Paddock left the world and his family in shock after the 64-year-old sowed terror on the Vegas strip on Sunday night.

The names of the victims have begun to emerge following the attack at Mandalay Bay Casino during a country music concert.

Off-duty police officer Rachael Parker was with fellow officers from Manhattan Beach, California when Paddock opened fire.

The agency said Ms Parker was a records technician for the force for 10 years. She died in hospital.

Ms Parker wasn’t the only off-duty officer killed.

Las Vegas cop Charleston Hartfield, 34, died at the festival. His friend Troy Rhett told the Review-Journal he “didn’t know a better man than Charles”.

Californian kindergarten teacher Jenny Parks and her husband Bobby were both shot.

Mrs Parks didn’t survive while her husband is in surgery after the bullet injured his arm and finger.

Steven McCarthy, Mrs Parks’ uncle, told CNN Mr Parks is responsive and aware his wife had passed away.

She leaves behind two children. The couple were visiting two of her brothers who live in Las Vegas.

Angie Gomez, from Southern California, was a 20-year-old travelled to the concert with her partner to celebrate a new job as a certified nursing assistant.

Lupe Avila, her high school English teacher from Riverside Polytechnic said the school was “deeply saddened” by her death.

Lisa Romero-Muniz’s husband forgot their wedding anniversary and planned a weekend away in Vegas, The New York Times reports.

The mother of three was a high school secretary. Miyamura High School will hold a candlelight vigil for her on Monday evening.

Shannon Gothard said her 35-year-old brother Adrian Murfitt, a commercial fisherman from Alaska, had gathered childhood friends for a break away from working 16 hours a day.

Ms Gothard said her brother died after he was shot in the neck.

Canadian Jessica Klymchuk, 34, was an educational assistant, librarian and bus driver at St Stephens School in Edmonton.

She was with her fiance at the festival. The couple were "a match made in heaven", former co-worker Tina Moore told the Edmonton Journal.

Another Canadian, Jordan McIldoon was visiting Las Vegas with his girlfriend and was meant to fly back on Monday.

Heather Gooze, who was working as a bartender at the concert, said McIldoon died in her arms.

“I felt his fingers, like, tighten and then loosen,” she told CBC Radio Canada.

Mr McIldoon was a self-described “cowboy boot, tattoo-covered redneck who loved the outdoors”.

Teachers at Manhattan Beach Middle School in California were left devastated on Monday after the school informed staff special education teacher Sandra Casey had died.

The school released a statement saying she will be remembered for her sense of humour and dedication to her students.

Rhonda LeRocque, the wife of a minister, from Massachusetts was at the concert with her six-year-old daughter, father-in-law and husband of 20 years, Jason. Her father-in-law took her daughter home just before the gunfire broke out.

She reportedly died instantly after being shot in the back of the head.

Her family told Boston 25 News Mrs LeRocque was as “close to perfection as you can get”.

Travis Phippen, a medic from California, was shot in the arm but managed to help more than 14 others at the scene.

He was at the concert with his father John but tragically couldn’t save him.

Denise Salmon Burditus was with her husband of 32 years Tony.

The pair took a photo together just minutes before Mrs Burditus, 50, was shot. She died in her husband’s arms.

She was a semi-retired grandmother and mum, according to her Facebook profile, and met her husband in high school.

“I'm just praying for comfort for their shattered hearts. Her family...Her adoring husband...Her beautiful children and grandbabies...Her friends whom she loved like family,” her friend wrote.

Tennessee resident Sonny Melton died while using his body to shield his wife from bullets hailing down from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

The 29-year-old nurse was gunned down in a desperate bid to save the his wife Heather.

"He grabbed me from behind and started running when I felt him get shot in the back," his shaken wife told WZTV in a statement.

“I don't know what to say. Sonny was the most kind-hearted, loving man I have ever met. He saved my life and lost his.”

"At this point, I'm in complete disbelief and despair,” she added.

“I want everyone to know what a kind-hearted, loving man he was, but at this point, I can barely breathe.”

Quinton Robbins, 20, was also attending the country music festival when his life was cruelly cut short.

“Everyone who met him, loved him. His contagious laugh and smile. He was truly an amazing person. He will be missed by so many, he is loved by so many,” his aunt Kilee Wells Sanders said.

“Quinton was a pay-it-forward kinda guy," family friend Tyce Jones said following news of his death.

"He always had a smile on his face and was a nice guy. He loved his family and loved to coach his little brother’s flag football team. He will be missed."
