Little hero, 6, pulls drowning toddlers from backyard pool, saves them with CPR
A six-year-old boy who pulled his drowning toddler twin cousins from a backyard pool has told he "just knew what he had to do" to save their lives.
Branson Lee said he jumped into the pool and lifted the toddlers out of the pool, before laying them on the concrete, where he began CPR until his uncle took over.
"I just knew what I had to do," the little hero said according to local news reports in Louisiana.
Branson pulled his own little brother from the pool’s top step, then saw his 21-month-old cousins floating face-down, the twins’ father Steven Kelley said.
He hauled the babies out and yelled for help, while administering chest compressions.
Family members said the clever boy knew about CPR after watching his mother perform it on his brother two years ago.
Mr Kelley said the twins were limp and “blue as a pair of blue jeans” after they were pulled from the pool about 10pm Sunday, and called their speedy and complete recovery a miracle.

The twins’ mother, Jeannie Kelley said 30 seconds later, the first twin Kaden began coughing up water and breathing. Another 30 seconds later, the second, Isaac did, too.
Mr Kelley said his boys were breathing shallowly when emergency services arrived. Rescue workers gave them oxygen, and they were airlifted to a hospital.
“Within 30 minutes, they were talking in sentences,” he said. “Praise to God we’re not dealing with two boys who are intubated with no brain functions.”
The twins were released from hospital 36 hours later "because the children were jumping off the window sill,” according to their dad.
