'It's right there': Confusion over furry friend sitting with group at lunch
Social media users are in hysterics after a woman shared a picture of an apparent optical illusion that fooled her mother while enjoying a wine at a café.
An object in this picture, snapped in New York last week, caused a stir online, after the woman’s eyes appeared to be playing tricks on her.
Hannah Murphy, who was visiting from California, was baffled when she returned from the bathroom to find her mother Jenny giggling at an “adorable” sleeping dachshund.
The only problem was Hannah couldn’t see a dog and became rather confused while the pair rested after a bike ride through the city last weekend.
When the younger woman asked her mother where the dog was that she had become so smitten with, Jenny kept pointing at a family who were sharing a meal at a nearby table.
But Hannah still couldn’t see the cute furry friend.
"She was getting so mad at me, like, 'It's right there! Right in front of your face!'" Hannah told Buzfeed.

The young woman said she had to get up from her chair for a closer look.
Once she was at a better vantage point, Hannah realised her mother had become besotted with a brown leather handbag that was lying on the ground beside the diners.
"She kept pointing to it and I couldn't see it (because it was a purse) and I had to get up next to her and try to get her vantage point," she said.
Hannah tweeted about the laughable incident, with the photograph, last Sunday and it quickly went viral.
The picture has been retweeted more than 46,000 times and has received almost 134,000 likes.
