'Don't look back in anger': Manchester mourners break into Oasis hit after minute's silence
A massive crowd of mourners in Manchester spontaneously broke into song, singing Oasis' "Don't Look Back In Anger" after a minute's silence.
The hundreds of people gathered in St Ann's Square to pay their respects to the 22 victims who lost their lives at an Ariana Grande show in their city on Monday broke out into the hit 90s pop song after a minutes' silence.
The Guardian reports it all started as a woman named Lydia Bernsmeier-Rullow was clutching some flowers at the memorial when the lyrics from the Manchester-natives' hit song started flowing from her lips.
The song started as a trickle, with some strangers in the crowd around joining in when she reached the chorus.
A minute later someone in the crowd shouted, "C'mon, sings up!"
An instant later the song was flooding the square.
"I love Manchester, and Oasis is part of my childhood," Bernsmeier-Rullow told The Guardian.
"'Don't look back in anger' – that's what this is about.
"We can't be looking backward to what happened, we have to look forwards to the future.
"We're all going to join together, we're all going to get on with it because that's what Manchester does."
Following news of Monday's deadly terror attack, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher tweeted his love to his hometown.
