The disgraced Premier League star who was sentenced to six years for sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl has been filmed telling inmates he wished he “raped her”.
Adam Johnson, 29, was playing for Sunderland and had regularly represented England when he pleaded not guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a child.
Since being charged, Johnson said he was ashamed of his actions but in footage obtained by The Sun, he is filmed crudely telling inmates how his actions were "f*** all" compared to other prisoners.
“If I wasn’t who I was, he [the teenager’s dad] wouldn’t have gone to the police station. I didn’t even get me c**k out or f*** all," he is heard telling other inmates.
“I would have got a caution at the police station. They might not even have charged.”
When asked by an inmate if he had sex with the teenager, Johnson laughingly said “no, I wish I f****ng did for six years”.
Recalling how the ordeal unfolded, Johnson said the teenager would stand outside his car every game, while describing her outfit and making crude hand gestures, before they eventually agreed to meet.
“I accepted her [on social media], got talking to her, I didn’t, I didn’t know, I just thought she was 17, 18,” he added.
“Got talking to her for a few weeks and then I met up with her and f****ng kissed her.”
However during his trial, the UK court heard Johnson asked if she was in the last year of school, to which she replied she was in Year 10.
Johnson, who has a two-year-old daughter with his ex Stacey Flounders, said the chances of him returning to professional football in England were gone and he would likely “have to go abroad”.
The prison is now investigating the footage.
