JonBenet's brother can't stop smiling in Dr Phil interviews on fate of murdererd child beauty queen

An interview with the brother of a murdered US child beauty pageant contestant has left audiences pondering what the man’s body language really means regarding the 20 year old mystery of what happened to JonBenet Ramsey.

Burke Ramsey, the brother of JonBenet Ramsey, has been interviewed by talk show host Dr Phil, 20 years after the six year old girl was found dead at her Boulder, Colorado, home.

But it was not Burke Ramsey’s words that raised eyebrows, it was his face.

As Dr Phil McGraw asked a series of questions about the murder mystery, the now-adult brother of the JonBenet kept smiling at the cameras.

During two decades of police investigations, Burke and his parents John and Patsy Ramsey have been probed as potential culprits, however, police eventually declared they were no longer suspects in 2008.

Police also interviewed Burke Ramsey when he was a young child.

The Dr Phil Show has been promoting never before seen video of his police interrogation as part of a three-part series focused around the Burke Ramsey interviews.

“I know people think I did it, that my parents did it,” Burke Ramsey, now 29, told Dr. Phil in an interview that aired on September 12 in the US.

“I know that we were suspects.”

Burke Ramsey told Dr Phil he had tried to have a normal upbringing during the past 20 years, much of which has involved intense media scrutiny surrounding his parents.

It is understood Burke Ramsey was paid for the interviews, ABC US has reported.

The broadcast has reignited interest in the case and brought forward new statements from investigators who say they have not given up the hunt for JonBenet’s killer.

Boulder Police Chief Greg Testa released a statement last week reaffirming his department’s dedication to the case.

“The Boulder Police Department is committed to finding justice for JonBenét, through a methodical and comprehensive investigation while looking at all aspects of the case,” he said.

“We have not and will not give up. We remain focused on this investigation and finding justice for JonBenet.”

JonBenet Ramsay was six years old when she was found beaten and strangled to death in the basement of her home the day after Christmas 1996.

Patsy Ramsey died ten years ago after a battle with ovarian cancer. The Ramsey family has also insisted its members are innocent of killing the little girl.

According to Inside Edition in the US, another TV series due out later in the year will examine old evidence with new technology.

DNA evidence taken from the crime scene could form a central part of that three part documentary series.

“That genetic profile belongs to a male and does not belong to anyone in the Ramsey family,” the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office said after discovering the evidence two decades ago.

“The unexplained third party DNA on the clothing of the victim is very significant and powerful evidence.”

The Case of JonBenét Ramsey will air on CBS in the US later in September.

A third documentary series, JonBenét: An American Murder Mystery will feature new statements from a man who once falsely confessed to being involved in the crime, Mark John Carr.

In those interviews, Carr reportedly claims he was present when JonBenet died, but was not responsible.

“Nobody wanted that little girl to die that night — nobody,” a transcript published by Radar Online read.

“Her death was an accident. I was with her when she died. But I was not the person who caused it."
