'NY's worst man': Crook steals pension money from 94-year-old woman's bra
A lowlife crook stole a 94-year-old woman’s pension money from her bra while she was wheelchair bound inside a clothes store in New York.
The man, dubbed New York's worst person, targeted Maria Vasquez as she shopped in a shoe store at midday on Wednesday (local time), the Post reported.
Shocking CCTV of the incident showed the bun-wearing mugger acting casual as he snuck up behind the elderly woman.
With a man-purse bag slung over his shoulder, the thief approached the wheelchair-bound Ms Vasquez and slipped his hand into her brassiere
He boldly snatches her envelope filled with cash, "scratched" the elderly woman and fled the scene.
Ms Vasquez's apparent caretaker, Felicia Reyes, was facing the opposite direction when he struck.
It took a few moments for the elderly woman to realise what had happened, but by then it was too late.
According to the publication, Ms Vasquez's envelope contained $600 worth of her pension, which she would have used to live off for one month.
“He reached over and startled me, yanking the envelope from my bra," the elderly woman said.
"He scratched me and took off running.
“I just screamed: ‘Run, run, he stole my money!’”
Ms Reyes believes he followed she and Ms Vasquez to the store, otherwise he wouldn't have known the cash was inside her bra.
