Couple's flight turns into private jet as the only passengers onboard

An English couple travelling around Asia were stunned to find their commercial flight turned into a private jet, when they were the only two passengers onboard.

Carrie Fisher and her boyfriend Kyle McNicol were shocked to find they were the only passengers on the September 2 flight from Krabi, Thailand to Penang, Malaysia.

And the couple made the most of their 70-minute Firefly flight, finding space to film a "worm" down the aisle.

"It was one of the best flights I’ve ever been on. And the staff, though awkward at first, it was the first time that this had happened to them too," Ms Fisher said.

"Stepping off the plane in Penang the ground staff all started laughing at us too, and another lady escorted us to immigration, where again they laughed and asked us about our solo flight."

Ms Fisher said they were told on arrival at Krabi airport that they were the only ones travelling on the 72-seat aircraft, but weren't sure what the staff meant.

"We were shocked to hear, 'Oh very special flight for you today'. But didn’t think anything of it until we reached customs and the two guys checking our passports started laughing and saying, 'Oh, just you two'," she said.

The duo posted about the "VIP travel" on their 'A guy, a girl and the world' blog which is detailing the couple's Asia adventures.

Ms Fisher said the duo planned to do volunteer work in Indonesia and New Zealand before finishing their trip in America.
