'There were multiple stings': 30,000 bees unleash on Wal-Mart carpark in US
Three people were hospitalised after at least 30,000 bees escaped and stung people outside a Wal-Mart in the US.
The incident happened in the shopping centre carpark in southeast Oklahoma City, according to KOCO-TV.
Two people required serious medical attention and a third suffered minor injuries after the bees escaped from three hives, according to local emergency services.
Several other shoppers were treated by paramedics at the scene for multiple bee stings.
A spokesman from the Oklahoma Fire and Rescue service said the bees unleashed about 10.30am after a person selling hives met with a buyer in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
Beekeepers were called to help gather the bees at the scene after they escaped from behind a protective screen, during the sale.
A local firefighter was also reportedly stung, however they did not require medical attention.
