Man blasts pistol-wielding carjackers with high pressure hose, and it actually works

A man in Louisiana, US, brought a hose to a gun fight when confronted by two carjackers last week.

And, remarkably, the high pressure spray gun proved the perfect weapon, quickly sending the two assailants into retreat.

KSLA-TV reports Michael Davis was cleaning his car at a Shreveport car wash about 2am local time on July 20 when he says a man pointed a gun at him and demanded his keys and cash.

Mr Davis said he told the men he was not interested in taking part in their planned vehicle theft.

“He said, ‘Give me your keys and your money,” and I just took the sprayer and I was like, “What’d you say?”, and then I just sprayed it right in his face,” Mr Davis told KSLA.

“And I went to hit him and his friend came around, I guess to get my backside, so I turned around and hit him.”

A video from Davis' dashcam shows him turning the powerful spray on the gunman and then trying to hit him with the wand.

He also fended off another man who came around the other side of the vehicle.

Davis doesn't regret his actions. He says he probably would have been shot even if he had turned over the car, adding that his disabled veteran brother was inside.

He hopes the duo will be caught.

Shreveport police haven't commented.
