Chilling footage shows travellers fleeing gunman in Turkish airport attack

New security footage has emerged showing the fear of travelers in an Instanbul airports in the moments before a deadly terrorist bombing.

The security footage shows a man roaming the terminal at Ataturk International Airport, armed with what is reportedly a Kalashnikov, also know as an AK-47, assault rifle.

Before he appears, a stampede of frightened travelers emerges into the shot. The gunman walks into the quickly emptying terminal as the group flees.

He began shooting shortly afterwards.

At least 43 people died in the attack on Tuesday when three suicide bombers struck. Turkish authorities have since arrested at least 14 people, including several foreigners.

The latest video, obtained by Turkish newspaper, Birgun, is one of several showing the terrifying from the airport.

Another piece of terrifying footage has shown the moment one of the gunmen is seen running through the airport arrivals terminal, before collapsing to the ground.

It’s believed the attacker was struck by a police bullet, which sent his AK-47 darting across the floor.

The officer then approaches the gunman, before he realised he was about to detonate his suicide vest.

The police officer then runs for his life.

Turkish officials said a trio of armed attackers arrived at the airport in a taxi and blew themselves up after opening fire. No one has claimed responsibility, but Turkey’s Interior Minister said today that “all findings show it’s ISIS.”

CIA Director John Brennan said today the attack “bears the hallmarks" of the Islamic State's "depravity.”
