'Like Jurassic Park': Gator wanders on to golf course in middle of game
Footage of a giant alligator casually strolling on to a golf course has shocked a few, who compared it to a scene from Jurassic Park.
The giant reptile wandered on to the green at Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Florida, where onlookers quickly pulled their cameras out.
Reports claim the male gator is a regular, and as roamed the golf course for several years.
He has even become a bit of a tourist attraction.
Golf course employee ‘Wendy’ told local News 3 that people travelled far and wide to see him.
“They want to see so they will bring spectators to ride so somebody can get a picture,” she said.
“He doesn't bother anybody and they don't bother him, he's like a mascot for the course.”
It's not the first time a gator has been the star of a golfing match.
In 2015, Dick Huber captured a photo on the 7th hole at Myakka Pines Golf Club in Florida.
In this instance the gator wandered from one pond to another and stopped to take a quick break on the green.
The golfers' claimed gators were a common sight, however many at the time questioned if the pictures were fake.
"Those of us that play Myakka Pines Golf Club know this is really true!" a commenter said on Facebook at the time.
The course General Manager Mickie Zada also claimed she was surprised by the doubters.
She told Wesh2 local news that Mr Huber's photos were absolutely real.
"You can't hardly play golf at Myakka Pines Golf Club without seeing a gator."
